Ursa Major

The Ursa Major is the pirate ship commanded by Grizzlebeard, associated with Freeport.

Jerry is a loyal crew member who deals with visitors and protects access to the captain. Visitors seeking Grizzlebeard should not assume that assurances he is “busy aboard” establish his actual presence.

Connection with Grizzfest

The first Grizzfest developed in early May Y120 around the ship’s mooring, as people gathered seeking an audience with Grizzlebeard. Its organisers supplied food and arranged a queue while exploiting interest in the captain and Little Foot.

Grizzlebeard later objected to the event’s use of his name.

During Gustavo’s blockade

The Ursa Major remained in Freeport while Grizzlebeard departed with Redd James in a smaller, unmarked vessel. Crew members remained aboard, maintaining its guns and rigging.
