A Letter of Marque establishes a privateer’s relationship with an issuing authority.

Redd James holds one issued by the Inquistadors (16P). His ship, The Red Scorn, operates as an Inquistadors (16P)-aligned vessel while attacking non-Inquistadors (16P) shipping.

Limits of protection

Possessing a letter of marque does not guarantee recognition or safe passage from every hostile captain.
