Ruling Twins of Caelor's Garden
The Ruling Twins of Caelor's Garden are the son and daughter of Alfonso and a West Azcelani noblewoman.
They govern Caelor's Garden in their father’s name and represent a principal centre of Loyalist power in Carrouban.
Their personal names have not been established in the existing notes.
Accession
The Twins rose to power around Y114, following Alfonso’s deposition and the outbreak of the Conquistadan Civil War.
The previous Loyalist governor disappeared from power amid military threats and coastal raids. Accounts differ over whether he died in battle, was assassinated, or lost the confidence of local leaders.
Conquistador nobles and commanders backed the Twins as figures capable of preserving the West Azcelani Alliance with Caelor's Garden.
Political position
Their authority rests on both Alfonso’s Loyalist legitimacy and their maternal heritage.
Local Conquistador leaders depend upon West Azcelani support against Fortress Veridian and the Inquistador Theocracy. The Twins’ ability to maintain that alliance is therefore central to their rule.
Their accession was a response to a political and military emergency, rather than an uncomplicated application of succession law.
