Welcome to Carrouban, a sun-drenched frontier where emerald seas meet the dense jungles of a vast tropical continent. This is a world of swashbuckling adventure, where the roar of Blackpowder cannons competes with the primal bellows of dinosaurs, and the land itself thrums with deep, supernatural energy.
You enter a land at a breaking point. It has been 120 years since the Conquistadan Empire first made landfall, an arrival the native Azcelani interpreted as a divine omen of the end atimes. Today, the Conquistadan Empire is fractured by a brutal civil war between the Conquistadors (16P) (loyalists of the The Old King, Hedonist) and the fanatical Inquistadors (16P) turning the colonies into a volatile landscape of lawless opportunity.
Whether you are a pirate seeking fortune in the wake of crumbling authority, an Azcelani navigating the complex social structures of the new world order, or a Conquistadan caught in the crossfire of a divided faith, your path is yours to forge!
Welcome to the Carrouban wiki! This will be continually updated as the setting is played in and I flesh out the setting further. Below are some useful pages that form the primer for the setting. The wiki should be in a strong, workable format by late January 2026.

Creatures in Carrouban
Carrouban originated as a sub-plane for the "Planarverse"/Planar Nexus D&D 5e game I ran at university - at that time, Carrouban was a limited sub-plane, and looked entirely different to how it is today. The setting came to be around October 31st, 2019, and ran until August 5th, 2022. This is the earliest note I could find on it.
At some point I start putting together a system called "Faded Atlas", a means of collaborative setting building in a West Marches setup, but find that I miss GURPS and Carrouban - and then on Sep 17, 2023, 3:14:30 PM I create a form to ask about a pirate game - and shortly after, the first Carrouban adventure takes place.
Note - for the Map_of_Carrouban.png, the scale is off for miles. 500 miles by the scale on the image is actually 390.41 miles...basically distances are 78% the length they appear on the map! I'll try to get an updated one made.
