Defaults: IQ-6, Animal Handling (any)-5, Physician-5, or Surgery-5.
Prerequisite: Animal Handling (any).
This is the skill of treating sick and injured animals. It is the animal equivalent of Physician skill. A successful roll lets you diagnose an animal’s problem, prescribe drugs or care, or hasten natural recovery from injury.
Modifiers: Equipment modifiers (p. B345); -5 or more for a rare disease; -2 for an unfamiliar species within a familiar order (e.g., a tiger when you are used to house cats), -4 for an unfamiliar order (e.g., a horse when you are used to cats), or -6 or worse for larger differences (e.g., a lizard when you are used to cats).
