Harmonic Shaping of Mutite
Mutite can be shaped through harmonic sound.
Working conditions
The process ordinarily takes a long time and requires an otherwise silent environment. Unwanted sound can introduce impurities.
Exceptions exist: the song of a Quetzalcoatl can shape Mutite much more rapidly.
Applications
Conventional working causes Mutite to fracture in curved, glass-like surfaces, favouring knives, spear points, and individual armour scales.
Harmonic shaping permits more ambitious forms, including long blades and elaborate commissioned pieces.
Imbued Mutite cannot be shaped by ordinary methods and requires music.
Patronage
The time and controlled conditions required make impressive examples of harmonic shaping especially associated with commissions from high-status patrons.
