Softjaw Familiar

#bestiary
The Softjaw Familiar is a small creature that generally reaches approximately 32 inches in length and weighs around 3.5 pounds.

Identification

A Softjaw Familiar has a relatively slender build and narrow face. Its teeth vary along the jaw, with larger grasping teeth at the front and smaller cutting teeth farther back.

Confusion with Softjaw Pretenders

The similar-looking Softjaw Pretender grows considerably larger and has a stockier body, squarer head, heavier tail, and a more uniform row of blade-like teeth. Fraudsters sometimes pass off Pretenders as primordial Softjaw Familiars. This conceals the practical danger of keeping a much larger, difficult-to-handle predator.
