Chained Strike

Chained Strike is a fighting style founded by Belladonna Velenza and practised by members of the Chained Hag.

Its signature weapons are barbed chains. Chain fighting is unusual in Carrouban and should not be treated as a standard pirate fighting method.

Methods

The style combines chain strikes with entanglement, grappling, and close combat. Practitioners use chains to catch limbs, disarm opponents, apply holds, and control an enemy’s movement.

Unarmed fighting and knife work supplement the chain techniques.

Experienced practitioners can adjust their fighting distance and use their weapons effectively at different reaches. Belladonna Velenza and a small number of her followers possess exceptional mastery of the style.

Cultural significance

Chains serve both as weapons and as symbols of authority aboard the Chained Hag. Their use is closely associated with Belladonna Velenza’s organisation, whose members have themselves experienced enslavement.
