Grizzlebeard

#npc
Grizzlebeard is a well-known pirate captain active in East Carrouban. He commands the Ursa Major and is recognisable by an enormous grizzled black beard streaked with white.

Reputation and connections

Grizzlebeard enjoys a reputation as a pillar of Freeport’s community and is in favour with many of the Pirate Lords.

He is an established acquaintance of Redd James.

Haunts

Grizzlebeard frequents The Crossed Swords.

Amokuali and Grizzfest

Grizzlebeard survived the awakening of the Death Bat at Amokuali Temple on 07/05/Y120, sheltering within the temple’s pipe system. Members of his crew were killed or badly injured.

He subsequently learned that the organisers of Grizzfest had used his name to attract crowds and sell access supposedly connected with him. He objected to being associated with the event and its organisers.

Protection of Little Foot

In late April Y120, Grizzlebeard sheltered Little Foot and resisted attempts to return him to Belladonna Velenza.

Inkfeather described Grizzlebeard as apparently caring for the old man. At Amokuali Temple, he challenged Belladonna’s claim by accusing her of having stolen Little Foot’s freedom.

After Little Foot’s death and the massacre at Amokuali Temple, Grizzlebeard relinquished his claim to the remains rather than continue the conflict.

Jerry is a loyal member of his crew who deals with visitors to the Ursa Major.
