Casa Del Oro

Casa Del Oro is a wealthy gold-owning family associated with Áurea Isle and the Mines of Áurea.

The family is aligned with the Inquistadors (16P). Its interests were threatened by The Old King's Controversial Policies, which would have substantially reduced its gold profits.

Destruction of the family

Doña Isabel del Oro became the sole surviving heir after her five brothers and their families were killed by loyalist-aligned Azcelani and Conquistadan forces.

Her husband, another gold lord, was also poisoned by Azcelani hands.

The supposed curse

The family’s losses and Doña Isabel del Oro’s lack of an heir have encouraged claims that Casa Del Oro is cursed.

One rumour, recounted by Yarrsen, holds that an Azcelani witch promised Isabel’s parents a “perfect child that no other can follow,” meaning that she would be the last of her lineage. This account is a rumour rather than an established explanation for the family’s misfortunes.
