Shrine of the Slippery Three
The Shrine of the Slippery Three is a ruined Azcelani religious site in the jungle outside Freeport, occupied by the Slippery Three.
A narrow, little-used path leads through dense vegetation to the ruins. The surrounding undergrowth severely limits visibility, even during daylight.
Ruins
The site contains an ancient stone structure, broken walls, remnants of a ceremonial space, old benches, and the remains of a crude wooden shelter.
Surviving carvings depict construction, beauty, persistence, and continuing labour. Old markings around the damaged threshold appear connected with the building or consecration of the shrine.
Statue
The shrine contains an approximately ten-foot statue of Xōchitlāyōtl, depicting an extraordinarily beautiful Azcelani woman.
The statue’s legs have broken away. Its lower portions are coated in accumulated unguents and residue from repeated rituals. It lies on the floor next to the base.
The Slippery Three regard the statue as their fourth sister and attempt to restore her through sacrifice.
Later additions
A makeshift stone altar has a thin slab with space for a fire beneath it, allowing offerings laid above to be heated, smoked, or scorched.
The sisters inhabit a rough wooden shack beside the ruins. It is damp, poorly maintained, and filled with refuse, with few furnishings or useful domestic supplies.
