The Builder of Veridian

The Builder of Veridian is the unnamed Azcelani figure credited in legend with constructing the city that became Fortress Veridian.

The goddess’s demands

According to the story, the builder fell in love with Xōchitlāyōtl and sought to impress her through an extraordinary work of architecture.

He built the city himself, but the goddess repeatedly changed what she wanted. Each new demand drove him to extend or alter his creation.

The builder eventually died.

Legacy

The city’s beauty and complexity survived its creator. Its passages and concealed entrances remain incompletely understood by its later Inquistadors (16P) occupiers.
